HR Director NW Europe

Location: The Hague region the Netherlands


The company is well known in Europe for its IT Services. With a strong buy and build strategy the company has grown over the past ten years and will do so over the coming decade.  Currently they employ approximately 2000 employees in 100+ offices in over 16 countries worldwide.

With over 2.5 million customers the company is the number one IT Services Provider in several markets like hosting, managed solutions and connectivity.

For this IT service company we are looking for an HR Director NW Europe; Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom/Ireland and Denmark, responsible for establishing a uniform HR Policy in the region.


The HR Director NW Europe coordinates the translation of the corporate HR strategy to the region, acts as a regional coordinator for the specific region, advises on and ensures implementation of HR policies & procedures and processes, in close collaboration with the organization’s leadership and the group and local HR BP’s.

The HR Director NW Europe enables the organization’s leadership in a more strategic way to promote team effectiveness and personal development within the versatile company culture. The HR Director will be a visible partner to the business, point of contact to the organization’s leadership to address business needs touching all HR functions and capabilities including: organisational design, employee engagement & culture, talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards and employee relations.

The HR Director NW Europe will be leading the group and local HR BP’s in the Netherlands (80% of the time) and Germany, Belgium, United Kingdom/Ireland and Denmark (rest of the time) supporting over 1000 employees. This position will be based in the The Hague region, the Netherlands and report to the CHRO (also based in the The Hague Region).

The HR Director NW Europe will be responsible for delivering an excellent employee experience and for building a company where people love to work and excel. The HR Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the HR policies, activities pertaining to recruitment, culture, performance, development, total rewards and employee relations and establishing strategic plans for the different countries – to ensure that the HR function is dynamic and capable of supporting the current challenges the industry and business have ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The HR Director NW Europe will serve as a strategic and active member of the organization’s leadership. Responsible for

  • developing a strategic human capital plan to meet organization’s goals and strategy during a phase of integration and transformation related to staffing, recruiting, and retention;
  • developing HR strategies and programs to build an effective and inclusive high-performance culture;
  • partnering, coaching and challenging organization’s leadership on People related topics, actively engaging in the strategic and/or tactical direction, problem statements, business goals and priorities and how they impact the company;
  • ensuring that the capabilities needed in the respective organisations are there to deliver the business targets;
  • creating tailored solutions for the  People challenges in partnership with (relevant) regional management;
  • proactively supporting and developing company culture, vision and values;
  • ensuring planning, evaluation and implementation of talent planning and succession plans

Job requirements:

  • Master in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field;
  • 10+ years of experience as an HR Manager or Business Partner within a commercial organization;
  • Excellent People leadership skills – proven track record of building and retaining diverse HR teams;
  • Problem solving, results-oriented leader with a positive attitude;
  • flexible, customer-oriented attitude with strong interpersonal skills;
  • self-starter and entrepreneurial personality, committed and honest;
  • analytical and problem-solving thinking, with a strong Hands-on mentality;
  • committed to building a diverse, inclusive work environment;
  • good cultural and organizational sensitivity;
  • a good command of Dutch and English in word and writing, German is an advantage.
